Quick answer
Hard to believe, but after a little more than half a decade, Valheim has finally left early access. Maybe the achievements part is what I expected, but new build pieces was definitely something that I was not 100% ready for, but that I was very happy to see. First of all, the game will be launching on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 and with that achievements on all platforms. 53 achievements can now be earned and tracked in game, which I'll leave a full list of here if you want to read through them.
Didn't make any big swings with the 1.0 update, unless you count the adding achievements as a massive achievement itself. So you just beat Fader and you think you’re done with Valheim right? There are many bad habits you have likely developed in your time playing Valheim that could be worsening your experience. Launch the game and once inside its simple to enable cheats as you will see in a moment.
According to the developers, the game is considered feature complete with the addition of the Deep North, the final biome of the game. Now, it's really cool that even doing something as simple as building your first house now gives you achievements inside of Valheim, which makes every little thing like this feel a lot more important. In a recent blog post, they have stated there will be more than 50 achievements and specifically I counted 53 in game. The meadows kicks things off with 4 trophies to collect.
Community basics
However, what is lesser known is how these sources of resistance interact when combined. This time, you will see the ‘false’ text appear indicating in this case that devcommands are now disabled. It's been a long road to get here, but you can now play Valheim from start to finish. And along the way, we got a couple of our first building achievements, which is also really cool to see.
Surprisingly though, the first creature you encounter, the greyling, is one of the few exceptions without a trophy drop. That Gjall is going to do twice the normal damage to you. First, when pressing the B key text will appear in the top left of your screen to indicate that there is now ‘no placement costs’. And with that file size almost quadrupling, uh the game's price has also risen from $19.99 to $29.99, which is a 50% price increase.
It did not ruin our achievements. In fact, the first you will likely acquire is the boar with a 15% drop rate. However, lets take the same situation but this time you have a barley wine active which provides a very resistant status to fire. A total number of creatures slain will also be displayed in the top left of the screen.

The all the updates over the course of early access, this is good. That makes me feel good that it didn't ruin our achievements to have that happen. Weirdly, this is the only trophy in Valheim with exactly this drop chance. Rather than cancelling each other out as you would expect if resistances stacked, very resistant takes priority resulting in you having 75% reduced damage from fire.
It can be relentlessly challenging, but for the most part, it plays pretty fair. Considering their abundance, you shouldn’t have any trouble with this one. Rather than combining the 50% reduced damage from the mask and the 75% reduced by the potion to grant immunity. It's a game that isn't especially complicated, but has a whole lot of depth.
Second is the deer dropping half the time at 50% of which you will need many to both summon the biomes boss and craft the powerful stagbreaker 2 handed hammer. The higher resistance takes priority giving you only the 75% reduced poison damage from the mead. There's a reason why Valheim is so well regarded despite its lo-fi style. Its worth noting here that on your journey you may see single and two star versions of many of the games creatures.
Merch and products
The Valheim wiki shares many more of these resistance interactions to further explain this mechanic of which you will see now on screen if you are curious! Wind Rose has all these little features that make base building and crafting a little easier, and Valheim stubbornly refuses to change. While this makes them more difficult to beat, more stars does not equate to a higher drop chance. The last thing you want to do is sprint into unknown territory only to be swarmed immediately having burnt all your stamina to get there.
Third, is the most difficult trophy to find in the meadows in the neck with a mere 5% drop rate. While walking and baiting attacks, you have extra time to let your stamina bar refill. 5% is the lowest of any trophy in Valheim but fortunately, neck populations are high along the coast and with some patience you should be able to get this one. Optional, but not necessary, you can add railings to the side to help keep the boar on the ramp.
Other 5% trophy drops covered later in the video won’t come as easy. You can use any material you want as long as you're covering the ground below where the newborns will fall. Lastly, is Eikthyr which like all other bosses and minibosses have a 100% drop rate. The boar will be challenging to position while alert from the skewering, but in about a minute, his alert status will fade and can be more easily manipulated.
Events
Defeat them once and you’re guaranteed their trophy. You can switch to your hammer in the hot bar while keeping the boar hooked to precisely place a wall piece, cornering the boar at last. Keep in mind, should you want multiple boss trophies, you can always resummon and defeat them assuming you have the resources to do so. In this case, two more deer trophies will do.
Transitioning to the black forest you will find 8 trophies to chase down beginning with the plentiful greydwarf with a slight drop chance of 5%. Despite the low drop rate, its far from the most difficult black forest trophy to acquire. Second and third are the greater of the greydwarf clan in the brute and shaman each with 10% drop rates. Your best bet for finding these creatures will be at night where they become common spawns in the black forest but also in the meadows after defeating the Elder.
Otherwise, shaman can often be found at small ruins such as these during the day and both shaman and brute also can spawn rarely from nests 24/7. Fourth are skeleton with a 10% drop rate and what I believe to be one of the easier trophies to acquire with skeleton being common in burial chambers in addition to future biomes. Fortunate too as you will need 4 of them in the mistlands to craft the deadraiser staff. Maybe unsurprising but the ghosts, also found occasionally in chambers do not have any drops including a trophy.
Tips
Fifth is the troll while scary has a very high drop rate of 50% and therefore shouldn’t cause much of a headache to get your hands on. Sixth and what I believe is most difficult to find is the rancid remains. It does have 10% drop rate but with the creature being uncommon, the trophy can be hard to find. These are rare spawns in burial chambers and you can often clear an entire black forest and never encounter one.
Alternatively, and maybe your best chance to get the trophy is from raids. Both the skeleton surprise and she’s hot on your tail will continuously spawn rancid for the duration of the event. Keep in mind however, the skeleton surprise can only occur after you defeat bonemass, and shes hot on your tail after returning the brass chest to Hildir. In general, raids can be good ways to farm trophies if you’re lucky to get the raid containing the creature you need.
Funny enough, the brass chest of course is from the same creature dropping the seventh trophy for the biome and first of valheims minibosses in Brenna. After finding Hildir and interacting with her map, navigate to one of the smouldering tombs and slay her. Like bosses, minibosses have a 100% drop rate so her trophy will be simple to acquire.And lastly, the Elder after summoning with 3 ancient seeds, again with a perfect drop rate. The ocean has only a single trophy from its sole creature in the serpent that fortunately drops one third of the time.
