Quick answer
How's it going everyone and thanks for hanging out with me again today. To craft it, you might need to return to the swamp for more iron and get started growing flax found in fueling villages and quickly spinning that flax into linen thread. But then we also got some turnip and flax. With the release of the Mistellands update, you can now keep boar, wolves, locks, and chickens as your own tamed pets in Valheim.
Trinkets are Valheims newest equipable tool that provide massive boosts to your viking but you you’re going to have plenty of options on your journey. So, a lot of people that have been watching my Valheim videos are quite new to the game, so they might not understand. So, how do you go about getting your own tamed buddy? The Black forest is where you’ll find your first trinkets in the Heart of the Forest and Bronze Pendant.
So, you need to protect your your animals, everything. Well, step one is to find one out in the wild. Stamina is king in Valheim for your survival, whether you’re running from an attack, blocking, or parrying. But, this is more of an aesthetic base and it's on a difficulty where I can handle the raid, so it should be fine.
Food basics
Bore can be found in the meadows, wolves in the mountains, locks in the plains, and chickens can be found in, you guessed it, eggs. You don’t need healing if you never get hit. So, what you want to do is start with a nice big flat bit of land and dig a moat around it with a pickaxe. Bore, wolves, and locks need to be tamed from wild animals.
For that reason, always go with the Bronze Pendant, although, you will need to get the elusive bear trophy to craft it. And this is going to be for our bore pen. In order to do this, you'll first want to capture one. Moving onto the swamp you’ll have the choice between the armor and health regen providing iron brooch and the speedy, nimble anklet.
And then in the middle of that or at the bottom, what we're going to do is stick the new stone fences. Although this isn't strictly necessary for taming, it will make the process a lot easier. This is a tougher decision than the previous biome but to satisfy my unquenchable thirst for speed its got to be the anklet. I think I think an aesthetic base is they just look good, don't they?
How to get it
A simple pen will do the job. Considering the stamina draining rain debuff of the biome, speed and stamina gain will be our saviour. You can have some max protection bases that look really good as well, but I I'm more, you know, this is what I'm about. Just make sure that you leave a gap for the animal to get in.
Not to mention, its requires 5 less stamina to proc compared to the brooch. So, a bit to answer a couple of questions, cuz I have had quite a lot of questions on my videos, and I do read all your comments. When capturing boar, you can use a round pole fence or wood wall. Whether you choose the pierce enhancing wolf sight or bonemass light crystal heart, you can’t go wrong.
I've tried to pace my videos because I know a lot of you are new. If you don't aggravate the locks too much, a stone wall will suffice, but digging a steeply edged ditch might be the best option. The downside of course is the rather massive 80 adrenaline it requires to trigger. Where's the endgame bases and stuff like they are coming?
Recipes and farming
The animal must be within the active area, can't be alerted, and can't be hungry. The mantle on the other hand is right up my alley, specifically for the parry bonus of 50%. So you got obviously the plains will only grow um your flax and barley. So, you'll need to stay relatively nearby if you want to tame the animal fast.
Since the call to arms update parrying has been modified to completely forego stamina consumption making it even more powerful than it always was. And then you're just going to need like a little outpost sort of section uh for your farm for the planes just to get your flax and barley and again for like the Mland stuff. You'll see if the animal is alerted by the red exclamation mark above its head and its status, which will change to frightened. That combined with the fact that parrying is one of the best ways to build adrenaline in the first place, its gotta be the choice.
I'm looking for the best balance of strong buffs, easy ingredients, and meals you can realistically keep stocked. Animals will become alerted if they detect either the player or another creature from a rival creature faction nearby. Peering into the mist is where the choices get simple again with your decision depending on your combat style, magic or melee. Two health, one stamina, but experienced Vikings may prioritize stamina instead.
Best food choices
In these cases, the animal will try and break out of whatever enclosure you've put it in. The only thing holding back a spellcaster from destroying everything in its path is its reliance on eitr and triggering the earrings makes that 25% faster. Starting in the meadows, this is as safe as Valheim is ever going to be at this point. Untamed boar will also be alerted by fire, so ensure that the edge of their enclosure is at least 6 meters from any fire source.
If I had to pick here, I’m always going to go earrings simply because of how strong magic is in the game. Our culinary standards are also extremely low. You can tell if an animal is hungry from its status. For me, I actually find the brimstone kind of underwhelming with a staggering 100 adrenaline required to trigger and its effect being only situationally beneficial.
So, we're surviving primarily on whatever we can pick up off the ground. However, even hungry animals are fussy, and each of the three tameable creature types eat different foods, so make sure that you have the correct food type ready. Valheims latest updated added three brand new skills which are mega powerful at level 100! Shooting them down with a bow is the safest method.
Tips
Animals that are fleeing won't eat, even if they're hungry. Starting with crafting, being the most unique of the three providing benefits to both crafting items as well as building structures. Our final food requires something with slightly more nutritional value. You need 600 of these successful ticks to tame each of the three tameable creatures in the game.
Improving this skill will reduce the amount of time it takes to craft an item at any of the stations by up to a maximum reduction of 60% at level 100. Railed necktail is one of the most accessible early sources of help. Where this benefit truly shines is when using the new multi-craft functionality also added in this update. To start any build the absolute first thing you should be doing is leveling and clearing a large plot of land with your pickaxe and hoe.
This may look like the place you get sent for detention at Hogwarts, but our survival situation has improved dramatically because we finally discovered something incredible. When interacting with a crafting station, hold shift while crafting for the option to craft 5 instances of that item. Alternatively, you can use wooden or stronger material poles like core or iron to create a frame for the foundation of your build. Carrot seeds can be a bit difficult to find since they are not very common, only spawning in this biome.
