valheim frostner

Learn valheim frostner in Valheim with this source-backed guide, including where to find it, how to use it, and the best tips from verified community sources.

Quick answer

With powerful new trinkets, a brand-new adrenaline system, not to mention, parrying now costs ZERO stamina – the best weapons in the game have changed significantly. Valheim has many weapons to choose from – but, which are best? However, if fists weapons are not your thing, the old favorites in the silver sword and frostner are great alternatives. All that said, if determined to force melee weapons any of the iron class weapons will do and with silver acquired you cannot go wrong with the frostner.

Craft my favorite armor and weapon unlocked in this biome in the Fenris armor and Frostner mace. This skill in Valheim is absolutely BUSTED when you achieve level 100. You can fly this far using the momentum of the grappling hook. Across the game, there will be 13 of these unique trinkets with two per biome starting in the Black Forest and one for the ocean.

So, anything you attack will actually start to build up and take poison damage. But don’t worry, today I’ll tell you the BEST weapon you should use to dominate each of the games biomes in 2026, starting with the meadows! Adrenaline is now gained with each attack, giving fast attack speed classes an advantage leading to more frequent trinket triggers. This is just an objective upgrade over the stone and is a no brainer.

Weapon basics

The Frostner is very likely the most well rounded weapon in all of Valheim dealing blunt, frost, and spirit damage. The frostner on the other hand will require finding haldor and purchasing Ymir flesh from his shop. Share, everything you need to know about the skill leveling mechanics And thirdly, give you strategies to level each of them, as FAST as possible. You can even ride on top of a Gjallar or infiltrate a scorched fortress from above.

Ectoplasm can be used to craft Twig, a placeable figure excellent for leveling your skills. And also, the falloff from the arrow overrange is minimal, which makes it great for sniping long-d distanceance enemies. Just like fine wine, some things just get better with age. Not to mention, sloped combat has been improved resolving one of this weapon classes biggest weaknesses.

Your starting weapon is powerful being the first source the player has to elemental damage in fire. As I alluded to in the open, you might just see the frostner referenced again as we proceed into the most difficult biomes the game has to offer. At max level, your damage output for each class will be an average 141% higher with the minimum damage number increasing +240% and the max increasing roughly 81%. Then, reel it in once the chain is near a horizontal position.

How to craft it

The swamp now has a giant abomination that lay dormant in the swampy water laying in wait to surprise unsuspecting Vikings. You can also upgrade the dragger fang bow all the way to level four, which quadruples your poison damage and gives you another 10 piercing damage on top. The flint spear is still my choice and overall, the spear class stands now as one of my favorites. That aside, its a no brainer choice dealing iron age tier damage.

Plus, all of the meadows creatures will fear you while you have it equipped so it can be a nice greyling and boar deterrent. Like the frostner before it but dealing slash rather than blunt. Further, melee weapons increase their knockback by the same percentage as damage and reduce stamina consumption per attack peaking at 33% less stamina at level 100. If you can't reach it in one reel, drop down once to build pendulum momentum.

Defeating them drops root which can be used to make the root armor set. Its incredibly cheap, has both a melee, and ranged attack for supreme flexibility, the fastest leveling melee skill, plus the changes made in the recent call to arms have only made it better. Not only does it now use zero stamina, its also the best way to gain adrenaline as each successful parry gives you 5. Next is the flint knife, the first real weapon on the meadows list.

Stats and upgrades

Before getting the mistwalker, the frostner will once again be a good replacement. Leveling your weapon skill will vastly increase your damage output. Reel in again from there and that momentum will carry you to the top. The Elder model and his trophy likewise have been reworked.

Knives are excellent for fast players, not having a movement speed penalty and providing major backstab bonus damage for sneaky players. Like the frostner and mistwalker, it does frost damage allowing you once again to slow your enemies increasing your survivability. While this is good, it is nothing compared to the benefits of leveling your bow skill. Move to the side of the point and reel in when the chain is horizontal.

A new class of throwable bomb-style weapons can now be crafted throughout your run. I know there aren’t any trinkets in the meadows, but this weapons so good I take it well into the black forest ALL the time. Fourth is the crude bow, easily the worst bow in the game. However, before getting your hands on the new class of ashlands weapons, the mistwalker, and ONCE again, the timeless Frostner are great choices.

Combat strategy

All that said, leveling your skills in valheim is a challenging and time consuming activity. This, ladies and gentlemen, is hands-down one of the most fun and quite important items to get your hands on ASAP in Valheim 1.0. But by far the coolest thing added in this update is the early axes, an early less powerful version of the axes you find in the Ashlands. This thing is extremely inaccurate unless you fully draw down on it before release.

Second, skill is lost each time you die in Valheim unless you are under the “no skill drain” effect provided by a previous death. Cairo Knitter is working hard on making this look as majestic as possible. So, the whole vibe of this update is a party. However I have to give the club an honourable mention.

And yet, it must be mentioned as one of the better weapons in the biome as hunting deer is otherwise difficult. The skill lost when dying is 5% under normal game settings but can be changed with world modifiers varying from 1% on casual settings to 100% on hardcore. It requires resources from the Mistlands, not the deep north or any other region. The first thing you'll notice in character creation is there's three new hairstyles: champion, chronicler, and sunbringer.

Tips

You really cannot go wrong with either option. Amazingly, despite all that praise it still does not find the top spot which belongs only to the frostner mace. Any world created after the 1.0 update will guaranteed to have a chance of containing hooks inside the chest. My choice for the black forest might be a little controversial as its not really a black forest weapon in the abyssal razor but hear me out!

Like the frostner before it, this guy offers three types of damage in slash, frost, and spirit all while a little extra mist clearing capability which I’ll never turn down. Everything that you can find in chests in this area, for example, will not contain the hook. With its spirit and slowing frost damage, it joins the frostner, and silver sword as the top 3 candidates for taking into the games end game, the ashlands biome. If you didn’t know, parrying got way better recently.

If you’re lucky to find the a turtle island, this choice is a no brainer. However, for a more reliably found weapon, the bronze atgeir has got to be your pick. Polearms are a blast to use. Despite having a slow attack speed, and a slowing of your movement speed, their secondary attack is absolutely worth it.
