Quick answer
I knew you guys couldn't stay away after the fun we had in the last video committing arsonist war crimes, weaponizing deforestation, and summoning the might of Thor. Valheim and castles are a perfect match. Of course, before getting to the black forest you will need deer hide and meat for armor and sustenance. But, before you set off, make sure you bring some portal materials with you.
This was probably quite difficult, but the next biome, the Ashen Lands, will be much more difficult. Before you go to the deep north biome, there are a few obvious things that you're going to want to take with you. Have you ever wished that Valheim had more and bigger dungeons and maybe some more build pieces, too, so you can make an epic Viking castle? Across the game, there will be 13 of these unique trinkets with two per biome starting in the Black Forest and one for the ocean.
So, it will be a while before you find its alt biomes. Hard to believe, but after a little more than half a decade, Valheim has finally left early access. The Black forest is where you’ll find your first trinkets in the Heart of the Forest and Bronze Pendant. With the full release, there are many more players joining, especially from other consoles.
Building basics
It runs using the Unity engine, which has a bit of a tumultuous history on the original Switch, but Switch 2 has a little bit more brunt. But before that, if you learn how to animation cancel, you can take your damage output to a WHOLE other level. Bore can be found in the meadows, wolves in the mountains, locks in the plains, and chickens can be found in, you guessed it, eggs. Two, the vertical drop off of the ranged attack is more consistent than the bow once you get comfortable with it.
Adrenaline is now gained with each attack, giving fast attack speed classes an advantage leading to more frequent trinket triggers. But considering the low elevation of the swamp and high altitude of the mountains, meadows and black forest are your best bet. The objective is to make a simple cabin in the Black Forest. While this makes them more difficult to beat, more stars does not equate to a higher drop chance.
To craft and upgrade this set, all you need are leather scraps from the biome's bore. Found in the swamp, the bog witch is discoverable just like Haldor and Hildir before her, but this time with a round cauldron like symbol. Once you found it, I very much recommend you to slap down a portal so you have very quick access to it. But, this is more of an aesthetic base and it's on a difficulty where I can handle the raid, so it should be fine.
How to build it
This thing is extremely inaccurate unless you fully draw down on it before release. Alternatively, you can use wooden or stronger material poles like core or iron to create a frame for the foundation of your build. The skill lost when dying is 5% under normal game settings but can be changed with world modifiers varying from 1% on casual settings to 100% on hardcore. The Valheim wiki shares many more of these resistance interactions to further explain this mechanic of which you will see now on screen if you are curious!
Selecting the right location is always important, but terraforming is also an incredibly powerful tool that should never be ignored. But more importantly, it needed to have increasingly better loot and more difficult enemies to prepare you for each upcoming boss. The boar will be challenging to position while alert from the skewering, but in about a minute, his alert status will fade and can be more easily manipulated. With auto store, materials can be tossed onto the ground, and after a few seconds, they'll be pulled into nearby chests that contain common material.

Best layouts
Quick reminder as G Portal partner I can give you a nice discount on Valheim or any other game servers. Well, we're going to keep it going with the mid-game biomes: swamp, mountains, and plains. That is why today I am building castles for all seven Valheim biomes currently in the game. Enemies won’t be able to damage you and therefore it makes for the perfect spot to place a portal and establish your base.
Therefore, it is much safer to simply place your small bases on a nearby cliff. However, 1.0 has also added in a few new things before we even get to the deep north biome, and you might miss them. Bears have been added to the Black Forest, but fortunately are at least afraid of fire. The mushroom variant, specifically, can also be found in the Black Forest.
Since the call to arms update parrying has been modified to completely forego stamina consumption making it even more powerful than it always was. Every creature, sunbeam, and forested hillside is filled with a sort of fairy tale ambiance that made me want to go get lost in its procedurally generated regions. Bore, wolves, and locks need to be tamed from wild animals. And third, it has incredible attack speed and pierce dealing damage making it viable even beyond the meadows into Valheims second biome, the Black Forest.
Common mistakes
However, for a more reliably found weapon, the bronze atgeir has got to be your pick. Second are wild beehives, the player source of honey, which are more uncommon than you might think, having small chances to spawn in four different locations. We're obviously greatly increasing our resource constraints since last challenge with 600 wood and 100 core wood, which I have stashed away in the chests here. Transitioning to the black forest you will find 8 trophies to chase down beginning with the plentiful greydwarf with a slight drop chance of 5%.
So, I have on me a bronze shield and a bronze sword because that is the sort of uh gear we'd have at the Black Forest stage. While the broom appears friendly, I’d have to warn you against attacking it but…I’ll elaborate more on him a bit later. So if you're doing a lot of exploring in settlements, destroying or making stuff, feel they will come attack you maybe more often. And this is going to be for our bore pen.
The Black forest introduces Vikings to the bronze age and again has 8 weapons to offer with the worst of the bunch being the bronze axe. Similarly, if trenches are more your thing you should also dig while facing these ways for cleanest results. And as an aside, you can get corewood normally reserved for the black forest at these campsites with the same method. And it needed to have more and more connections with the lore to connect the whole world together with a story.
Tips
Some offers pay more, some less, so you can pick the ones that work best for you. Once items are stored, you no longer need to have them on your person to craft. Starting off with the swamp, we've got the Ignis Aeternus, which apparently means really hot fire that will burn your skin. We're talking fresh designs, new ideas, and months of building and planning, all compressed into one video for your enjoyment.
And don't forget to name the portal at your base before you head out looking for a swamp. And you want to go with a stone portal if you can, just because it will allow you to teleport more items through it. Uncooked food will now also need to be baked in the stone oven before eating. The birch, like previously, will consist of a normal Meadows, but with way more birch trees than normal, while small tree will be absolutely covered in saplings.
And speaking of pierce damage, to effectively evaluate the best weapon in the upcoming biomes we first need to understand damage and creature resistances before we can proceed. Plus, each enemy hit with the spin will contribute to your adrenaline bar helping your trigger your preferred trinket far more often. And fourth are in the black forest at these contested towers. Fifth is the troll while scary has a very high drop rate of 50% and therefore shouldn’t cause much of a headache to get your hands on.
