I canvassed the internet, Google searched, AI summarized, deep dove into Reddit, and even asked my own community to find the craziest and sometime useful seeds that you need to try in Valheim. Valheim's three traders, Haldor, Hilde, and the Bogwitch, are crucial to getting a variety of useful and unique items in the game. And to start things off, this seed probably has the craziest spawn I've ever seen, shared to me by Barefoot Cookie. Valheim, one of the most popular survival and indie games of all time.
If you're having trouble finding it, you can ping it on your map if nearby with the command find placeable h hard rock. You can even add a seed to the world if you have one, or let the game randomize it for you. Simply sail from one island to the next if it has a mountains biome, it can already pop up on the map. On every Valheim world seed, there are 10 possible locations each for Haldor, Hilde, and the Bogwitch.
Carrot seeds can be a bit difficult to find since they are not very common, only spawning in this biome. So, the adventure map could have been done right there. Swamps do not generate near spawn at the center of the map. Every time I generated a new map, it impressed me with its scale and how it looked like it could have been handmade.
Map basics
We can find both guck and ancient bark in the swampland biome, which looks like this on the map. From what I've seen and what I can see on the map, you do eventually go sailing to other islands and all sorts. This is a new upgrade station that only has one location on the entire map, like Haldor, but can only be found in the mountains. For clarity, those are north, south, east, and west which you can use your yellow player icon on the mini-map to easily orient yourself in one of these 4 directions.
Keep an eye out for the ward symbol on your map, and happy hunting. But, they're not always the easiest to find. In most seeds in Valheim, you start very close to the world center, but this one flips that on its head. But, before we started development, I also spent a year planning.
Both onion and turnup seeds are commonly difficult to find. And when that happens, you'll notice an icon appear on your map. the wild carrot seed, distinguished by their white flowery tops, tiny and assuming and about to completely change your diet. The whole map was playable, and people were enjoying it.
How to use map tools
They will start generating in a ring around the outer center of the map like this. Here, you can in theory upgrade your gear far higher than the max by using idols found in chests around the map ranging from wood in the meadows to blood gold in the deep north. Big shout out to her for finding this one. So, I thought I'd make a quick video laying out the trader spawning mechanics, and hopefully pointing you in the right direction.
So, admittedly, all the attributes of the seed are negative and probably only useful for a challenge style run. In that year, I had big dreams, but I never dreamt it would take up to 70 hours to play through the whole world. Onion seeds, for instance, can only be found in chests across the mountains overworld and come with a tiny loot chance of a mere 12 1/2% chance. The good news is the Black Forest has everything you need to start producing bronze, so you can get your farm started pretty quickly, and you definitely should once you found carrot seeds.
Just put in your seed and it will show you the entire map of your world. If you're relatively new to Valheim, you might not know that there are currently three different traders. And this seed gives you four chances for it in your spawn. And now, I'm going to finally take you guys after 3 years on the full journey of making the completely free-to-play Valheim adventure map.
Best tools
Turnup seeds, on the other hand, are not found in a chest, but rather growing in the swamp's biome. Here, you'll find yourself nearly 2,000 m from it, which has all kinds of complicating implications. They each offer a range of items and crafting ingredients that you won't be able to get anywhere else in the game. As an alternative, this seed has one instance of each wood house two and six even closer to spawn with backup locations just a little further out than the previous seed.
So, you can just sit back and relax, and let's take a trip back to the alpha, where it all began. With the swamp being covered with so much water, the turnup seeds spawn far less frequently than carrots in the Black Forest for comparison. For one, this is approximately the distance where swamps begin to appear in world generation, and despite it only being a small bit of coastline, you can basically see spiky swamp trees from the sacrificial stones. These traders are Haldor, who sells general goods like the strength belt and fishing rod, his sister Hilde, who sells mostly clothing items, and the Bogwitch, who mainly sells potion ingredients and herbs needed for feasts.
Another resource whose spawn can be suspect and always needed in huge supply is iron, and sometimes you can get some bad seed luck with swamps being far away or containing limited sunken crypts. So, in the beginning, we started from almost nothing on a brand new Valheim map with a very unique world spawn isolated on an island. On any given seed, only 13 of these can spawn, with most of them seemingly appearing closer to the edges of the map. To make matters worse, the three Eikthyr locations are nowhere near you, occurring again almost 2,000 m away.
Seed and map tips
Each of these traders have their own separate camps, which are pretty accessible during the early game. Looking for a cool seed to start a new world? This would become a little safe oasis for the main town, where you come back to many times throughout your adventure through portals that you connect yourself inside the other towns. In fact, the Elder, Bonemass, and even Moder are all closer to your spawn than even Eikthyr.
The first of these traders you're likely to find is Haldor. Let's start with an amazing seed with a massive starter island. And I've never shown it online. As of these three traders, he can spawn the closest to where you start the game.
Use the seed super seed that has a massive starter continent, a maple, and a very big ocean right next to the starter island for serpents and levitan hunting. So, I mentioned starting from almost nothing, and that's because I started off this journey by using some really cool mods by a mod developer named Jer. Even though it's the only seed I've ever seen remotely like it, so I had to share. But, as soon as you get the carved boat, the other two will also be within relatively easy reach, and give you a real advantage going forward.

This is an extra special seed where all the three traders are super close to each other. Shout out to him because without him, none of this would be possible. And speaking of challenges, these next three fall into a very similar category, offering very limited resources, and the third one offering even more. You will find them quite quickly, but this seed needs a little bit of planning since only the first trader that you find will stay.
With these mods, I made blueprints of and brought in every build that I had ever created on my YouTube channel into one large area. Each consists of the tiniest of starting islands, in fact, the smallest I could find in all my research. The first of these 10 locations that you come within 300 m of will become the sole and permanent location of that trader in your world. Along this way, you will also find a maple very close to spawn, which is very rare and gives you an extra comfort point.
And that I called a build graveyard. None have Eikthyr, any wooden structures, almost nothing to speak of. Credits to the seed go to Loudcraft that shared it on Reddit. Instead, they provided a good head start with a build, but then I got to work and modified it into three similar builds to create a theme for a few of the towns.
