Quick answer
The first and absolute last of this weapon class you will find on my list is the flint spear. Moving onto the swamp you’ll have the choice between the armor and health regen providing iron brooch and the speedy, nimble anklet. That aside, its a no brainer choice dealing iron age tier damage. The ashy lands will be a rather hostile environment.
To craft the table you will require iron, finewood, and leather scraps while the kitill, requires tin, copper and again, leather scraps. The default path is inside the app data folder under local/ironate/valheim. Valheim's mountains are beautiful, mysterious, and deadly. The resource grind in Valheim is serious, but that's where I can help.
Alternatively, you can use wooden or stronger material poles like core or iron to create a frame for the foundation of your build. While I didn't see it in the preview, Irongate have previously teased a shovel, so it remains to be seen how this tool will play a part. When slamming a weapon like the stagbreaker, iron sledge, or demolisher, you do AOE damage to all those near you, even those protected by a wall. Use the stagbreaker in burial chambers to clear out skeletons or iron sledge in sunken crypts through muddy scrap piles.
Material basics
Another resource whose spawn can be suspect and always needed in huge supply is iron, and sometimes you can get some bad seed luck with swamps being far away or containing limited sunken crypts. As you progress, you'll find those of elevating power, starting with wood, upgrading to bronze, iron, silver, black metal, black marble, flame metal, and finally blood gold for the Deep North. But you do have two sets to choose from in the iron and route.
Due to their size, their attacks can often damage the environment around them. The worst of the worst again is the new iron axe which in many ways is worse than even the bronze. While looking awesome, this trophy is worth the farm as its also required for crafting the biomes iron sledge hammer. The foundry you're going to need 15 iron, 20 stone, and 10 more of them frost cores.
Later, once you have iron, you can build a stone cutter and just deconstruct the base directly for an even easier approach. Sticking with the ocean, one of the rarest creatures to find unless you're low on food, tired, and have a boatload of iron, are the kings of the sea and the serpent. Or maybe you just have a ton of stuff like iron you need to haul a long distance. The subtle environmental effects, mixed with the low-poly graphics, give this a a strange dreamy atmosphere that can look really stunning under the right circumstances.
Where to find it
But right now, that should be enough to almost fill the boat with iron uh from what I've found so far. We've reached the mountains, and the environment itself is trying to actively kill us. Rain for example is a simple one or alternatively, try bonemass to trigger a greening of your environment like when fighting the swamp boss. The Mistlands environment has been transformed from a swamp-like forest covered in webs to a magical place immersed in fog.
Like, for example, this iron sledgehammer, which just does huge AoE damage. Then for the second one is our position it so that the two iron bars on either side are crossing over each other like this. For example, creating environments in the Ashlands made me realize something. There are tablets and stones that you'll find in the environment that will fill in the missing lore and also give you clues as to what to do next.
I have a iron shield that I upgraded once and I have pretty garbage tier food to be pushing the plains and we're going to go fight this Lox. Spears are my least favorite weapon class in Valheim but the benefits of using this in the early game cannot be ignored for the following 3 reasons: One, it is cheap! It does not increase the speed of items cooking on the base, or iron cooking stations, nor the stone oven. However, if ranged just isn’t your thing, the iron mace is the no-brainer solution.
How to farm it
At night, this environment is very hostile and can be quite difficult to navigate. What you might not know yet is the secret to conquering them easily. First, build a center pole 10 m high. With the poison mead active, the root mask offers nothing more than being a worse version of the higher armor providing iron helmet.
We didn't get to see it in action, but I did catch a glimpse of it within the inventory of some of the footage Irongate sent us. But back to the chair, yes, you can still get iron after skipping the Elder by using the infamous chair glitch. Rather, grab 4 finewood and place a chair such that it intercepts with the iron gate of the crypt. What you could do is use this seed as your iron mine world.
Today we are back building in Valheim and we'll be taking on another build challenge. Iron Gate asked me not to spoil the final boss fight and I'm very happy to respect their wishes. The first in iron is composed of the helmet, scale male, and greaves. Alternatively, oozers also have a small chance to drop a smelted iron bar.
Crafting uses
Next is the iron sledge which like the stagbreaker before it, does its job in dealing with large groups and cheesing dungeons. Frost caves can be hard to spot considering the steep elevation of the mountains and whitewash of the environment, while infested mines are hidden by the mist. And speaking of iron, the metal grind can be an incredible pain, but that's where instant smelt comes in. This is actually exactly how they find iron in real life.
But I do still have a little bit more iron to grab. Like the environment, you can also manipulate time. The iron buckler shield and bone tower were added to the swamps and Black Forest respectively. It costs far fewer leather scraps than the crude bow but still provides you ranged capabilities with its secondary attack.

Any less and the farm won't work, conflicting with the limiting breeding mechanics in the game. [laughter] And in proper iron gate fashion, they saved the best teaser for last, teleporting us to a giant ancient looking structure. Tips
Once you're able to craft iron weapons, the swamp creatures get a lot more manageable. Boot it up, log in, mine all the iron, and leave. So, I got a lot of really nice feedback on this method of building. To craft it, you'll need to gather a ton of iron scraps from sunken crypts.
And with iron you can craft one of the most underrated weapons in Valheim in the huntsman bow. While it does more damage than the stag, again, I opt to save on spending iron when I can, so I usually settle for the lesser damage of the stagbreaker and skip this one. I wasn't able to get enough iron for my armor cuz I was busy playing ranked dominion. For right now, we have wooden, bronze, and iron ones.
Use the spear throw to hunt deer for their hide rather than the expensive bow. I'll show you how to traverse the mountain safely, mine silver early, clear frost caves easily, grab the best weapons and armor, and absolutely crush the boss motor. Core wood works nicely as an early game material with sufficient strength to support the structure. To save even more time, a favorite speedrunner trick is to use creatures to break objects in your environment you otherwise can’t break without specific tools or they can at least do so faster.
