How to Summon The Elder
Collect three Ancient Seeds from Greydwarf nests and brutes in the Black Forest, then offer them at the Elder altar. Because the arena is large and uneven, clear nearby Greylings and set a portal before you begin.
Fight Strategy
The Elder uses root spikes, a stomp, and ranged branch attacks. Fire damage is the key: Fire Arrows or a Fire-enhanced weapon will shorten the fight significantly. Stay mobile, use trees and rocks to break line of sight, and attack during the recovery window after the stomp.
If you are using melee, run in after the root attack and land two or three hits, then retreat before the next wave. If you are using ranged, keep distance and focus on consistent damage rather than burst.
Rewards
Defeating The Elder drops the Swamp Key and unlocks the Elder power. The Swamp Key opens Crypts in the Swamp, which contain Scrap Iron and Withered Bones for the next boss.
Common Mistakes
- Fighting without Fire Arrows or a fire weapon.
- Ignoring Greylings and letting them interrupt the fight.
- Standing still during the root attack.
- Forgetting to bring a second weapon for close range.
