Quick answer
Welcome back to another episode of Before You Buy, the show where we give you some straight-up gameplay and our first impressions of the latest games releasing. Hard to believe, but after a little more than half a decade, Valheim has finally left early access. For me, I actually find the brimstone kind of underwhelming with a staggering 100 adrenaline required to trigger and its effect being only situationally beneficial. This, ladies and gentlemen, is hands-down one of the most fun and quite important items to get your hands on ASAP in Valheim 1.0.
Two weeks ago, I got the full update early and have spent every day since tearing it apart so I can show you everything. However, 1.0 has also added in a few new things before we even get to the deep north biome, and you might miss them. And with that file size almost quadrupling, uh the game's price has also risen from $19.99 to $29.99, which is a 50% price increase. With the release of the Mistellands update, you can now keep boar, wolves, locks, and chickens as your own tamed pets in Valheim.
This skill in Valheim is absolutely BUSTED when you achieve level 100. And he as you can see, he loses about about 10% to 15% life. You can also upgrade the dragger fang bow all the way to level four, which quadruples your poison damage and gives you another 10 piercing damage on top. On every Valheim world seed, there are 10 possible locations each for Haldor, Hilde, and the Bogwitch.
Update basics
At the mid height of about roughly a 100 meters plus, obsidian and drake nest can generate and drakes can spawn. Feasts, must be placed before eaten but, can be consumed a total of 10 times to keep both you and your compatriots well fed. Next, at 1,000 m, you can find peaceful Meadows that will likely make for the optimal base location. And with that, here's hoping to even more rare items coming in Valheim's 1.0 release, which I think is going to be the biggest gaming event of 2026.
(01:23) Now that you've set foot on the Ashen Lands, there are a few things you should know. Lastly, is Eikthyr which like all other bosses and minibosses have a 100% drop rate. Structure six on the other hand has a chest 100% of the time and has the same 55% chance of spawning the curious axe head. And hey, maybe some of these features will make it into Valheim's 1.0 release coming out next year.
we now take a look at our skills you can see I had 10 skills already so it's increased it up to 60. Valheim 1.0 is finally here, and after years of waiting, I'm going to be spending the next 250 days experiencing absolutely everything it has to offer. We're obviously greatly increasing our resource constraints since last challenge with 600 wood and 100 core wood, which I have stashed away in the chests here. And if you're playing in handheld, this actually is my preferred way to play due to the nature of the 120 Hz display.

Title: How to Build the Perfect Dock Valheim 1.0 So, you've built a ship and started exploring the world beyond your starter island, but now you're convinced you need a dock. Hello everyone and welcome to a quick co-op guide for Valheim 1.0. Join the 1% Club, get the Falcon Show exclusively every weekend. According to the developers, the game is considered feature complete with the addition of the Deep North, the final biome of the game.
Valheims latest updated added three brand new skills which are mega powerful at level 100! Any world created after the 1.0 update will guaranteed to have a chance of containing hooks inside the chest. Further, both the hammer and serving tray build menus have been changed drastically. Valheim 1.0 and its last biome, the deep north, have been officially announced.
If you're just looking at the final 1.0 update in isolation, I could see somebody wondering why that justifies the price jump, but basically, we're talking about exiting the early access stage. At max level, your damage output for each class will be an average 141% higher with the minimum damage number increasing +240% and the max increasing roughly 81%. So, to craft the Drago Fang, we need 10 ancient bark, 20 silver, two deer hides, and guck. The first of these 10 locations that you come within 300 m of will become the sole and permanent location of that trader in your world.

And at the highest peaks of about 120 meters and higher is where silver veins can be found in the annoying ass stone rolls can spawn. Second is the Tonic of Ratatosk which might be my personal favorite granting a 15% increase to movement speed while also increasing your run skill by 10. Beyond that, occurring at 1900 m are the dark meadows. Valheim 1.0 has given us the most powerful gear we've ever seen, and it's also changed dramatically how we craft them.
(01:38) This will open up a bunch of new recipes for crafting. Second and third are the greater of the greydwarf clan in the brute and shaman each with 10% drop rates. This seed is an exception where it occurs just south of the last biome and I fully expect it to survive the 1.0 update. I have arrived in Valheim 1.0 and I already see multiple brand new things to experience.
It's been a long road to get here, but you can now play Valheim from start to finish. Second, you will have a chance to be rewarded with an extra cooked meal the higher your skill peaking at 25% at level 100. Recipes are organized by category, material, recent builds, or ones you choose to add to your favorite list. And before we get to the juiciest stuff like creatures, weapons, and armor, you have to remember that this is a 1.0 release much more than a new biome.
Patch notes
The 1.0 update isn't some massive game changer, but the new deep north biome is intriguing to explore and unlocks powerful new equipment. Further, melee weapons increase their knockback by the same percentage as damage and reduce stamina consumption per attack peaking at 33% less stamina at level 100. Just chop down the tree and it will randomly drop 10 wood. Finding one of these 10 locations may seem rather daunting, but there are a couple of variables that will substantially narrow down your search area.
This debuff will reduce your health regen by 100%, stamina regen by 60%, and do one damage to you per second. The protector will give you massive armor, and the collar set boosting either regeneration rates by a whopping 160% considering all three pieces. It does have 10% drop rate but with the creature being uncommon, the trophy can be hard to find. A whole new upgrade system has been implemented with the introduction of idols found rarely in chests of both protection and combat varieties.
And fifth, before getting to the deep north, we did get confirmation that the ocean will not be receiving an update with 1.0. The skill lost when dying is 5% under normal game settings but can be changed with world modifiers varying from 1% on casual settings to 100% on hardcore. You'll need only 10 ancient bark in total, so it's a really, really easy material to get your hands on. Combat idols can be used at the forge of potential to increase the level of your weapons and armor pieces, the protection variant.
Tips
The all the updates over the course of early access, this is good. Wood idols are used for meadows tier gear, black metal for plains, you get the idea. I mean, granted, still a $30 game, so it's not like a crazy expensive game or anything, but let's talk about if it's worth it. It can be relentlessly challenging, but for the most part, it plays pretty fair.
With each upgrade attempt, the idol is consumed, raising the item level, permitting upgrades beyond the standard max of four. Obviously, this video is my opinion and the opinion of others in Game Ranks, but yeah, it's worth it. It's a game that isn't especially complicated, but has a whole lot of depth. Like the game's three vendors, each world will have 10 possible spawn locations, in this case exclusive to the mountains.
For recording footage, we loaded up old saves, but the developers recommend starting a new game to get the fully intended 1.0 experience. And don't forget the new shield of roots, a round shield with a unique reduction of attack stamina of 10% and the game's first shield to have no movement speed penalty. 2021 is not contemporary, but how Valheim is different is best exemplified with the food. They are offering new customers their first month for just 1 euro to celebrate Valheim's 1.0 launch.
