Where to find it

Behavior and attacks

The fish wraps, bread, and wolf skewers give you a very strong combination for exploring the plains. While this is true, trolls provide an alternative approach. Right here we have the Lox fur armor.

Combat strategy

And there's literally no reason to go to the mountain at night unless you want a twostar wolf to tame. Dodge their attacks to knock down ancient trees and be rewarded with ancient bark otherwise locked, once again, behind a bronze axe.
Tips and mistakes
Exhibit A, Deathskito used to be something I was scared of. To craft and upgrade this set, all you need are leather scraps from the biome's bore. Not only are the wolf spawns increased, but you'll also encounter fenring, a powerful werewolf-like creature that does lunge attacks for massive damage. Of course, before getting to the black forest you will need deer hide and meat for armor and sustenance.
Probably probably the only thing I'm scared of does 11 damage. Leather, on the other hand, consists of four pieces in the leather helmet, tunic, pants, and to occupy a Viking's fourth armor slot, the deerhide cape. Upon death, fen rings drop a wolf fang and have a chance to drop their trophy. Ensure you exploit their silly AI to save you the suffering of having to use the inaccurate crude bow.
I can parry it and one shot it. This armor, like all future sets, can be upgraded three times to max quality of four, but will often be limited by your workbench upgrade level. Starting with the iconic wolf armor, which when the whole set is equipped provides a whopping 61 armor, and the chest and cape specifically provide resistance versus frost. Deer are not the smartest creatures and with your hammer equipped sprint at them and place a cooking station to impede their progress.
